The grape harvest has begun: the first bunches arrive at Cantina Sabaini

There is a time of year when everything changes. Among the rows of vines in Illasi, in the hills of Verona, the morning air grows crisper, the colors of summer slowly begin to transform, and through the vineyards, you can feel that movement which heralds one of the most important periods of the year: the harvest.

At Cantina Sabaini, the gathering has officially begun. The first bunches have arrived at the cellar, kicking off a season made of care, energy, and anticipation. It is a moment that every year brings with it fresh emotions, as well as gestures repeated across generations: observing the grapes, harvesting them with care, accompanying them into the cellar, and letting time tell their identity.

Inaugurating this harvest are the earliest-ripening grapes, including Garganega and Pinot Grigio, which have reached the right degree of ripeness and are ready to be picked. These are the first clusters of a journey that will accompany Cantina Sabaini over the coming weeks, following the natural rhythm of the various varieties and vineyards. Because the harvest is never entirely the same: every grape has its own timing, every row its own story, and every vintage has something new to tell.

And so, as the first bunches leave the hills of Illasi to arrive at the winery, a new chapter begins as well.

From vineyard to cellar, together.

The harvest is one of those times when the bond between people, land, and wine becomes strongest and most visible. There is the work of those who tend the vines throughout the year, that of those who gather the bunches, and that of those who, in the cellar, guide them through the early stages of transformation. It is teamwork, built on expertise but also on passion, because every harvest is a small journey constructed day by day.

“At Cantina Sabaini, we want to experience it together with you. We will accompany you over the coming weeks, recounting the progress of the harvest, the various varieties arriving at the cellar, and the emotions of this new vintage.” Because wine, even before it is poured into the glass, is born here: among the rows, in the hands of the people, in the heart of a land.

And today, in Illasi, that journey has just begun—stay updated to experience it with us!
